Welcome to Le Relais des Eléphants Colorés

Greetings from Virlet! We wish to welcome you to our little piece of paradise in the French countryside. Here, we offer you the opportunity to stay in one of the most beautiful, natural areas in Central France.

Relax and unwind at either one of the four gorgeous ensuite bedrooms, with breakfast included or in the fully equipped two bedroomed gite with kitchen and amenities, all have access to our onsite swimming pool open from mid June to September (weather permitting) to help cool off after a day of exploring the stunning scenery.

Our vast garden offers plenty of space to relax. You may wish to indulge in a three course set meal at our table with local produce sourced whenever possible. This table d’hote option is additional and bookable upon at the time of your stay.

Soft drinks, beer & local wine will also be available to purchase if required, on some nights there could even be some live acoustic music performed by Terry to entertain you as you dine.

The Location

Eléphant Colorés is located in the peaceful hamlet of Les Guis and close to the villages of Virlet and Pionsat, this area sits in the middle of the forests and meadows of the Combrailles. The Combrailles is a quiet and hilly farming region in Puy- de-dome department of the Auvergne, the green heart of France.

The closest village is Pionsat just five kilometres away. as well as a castle with a museum, you will also find a supermarket, hotel, restaurants, bakery, butcher to name a few. This is a very picturesque area ideal for walking and cycling tours , with many opportunities to encounter local wildlife.

On the 8,500 m2 site you can enjoy the view, or play a game of petanque on the petanque court. Enjoy swimming in our outdoor  heated pool. We have a children’s pool available for the little ones. Our grounds are characterised by peace and space in a natural environment.

You can also enjoy the beautiful nature in the Puy-de-Dôme with its volcanoes (the Puys). You can go hiking and cycling here. Visit castles, a Buddhist monastery or one of the many other sights. We have all the information you will need to make a truly memorable holiday and we are happy to help you get the best experience possible tailored to your needs.
